FAQs

Welcome to The North Central Homesteaders FAQ page. We look forward to welcoming you to our annual event at the Macon County Fairgrounds. Below you can find lots of detailed info.

Location?

The festival entrance is at 1305 South Missouri Street, Macon, Missouri, 63552, United States. We have a map you can reference at the bottom of the convention home page

Can we camp at the fairgrounds?
Yes, there is RV and tent camping on the fairgrounds. RVs are $20 a night and Tents are $10 a night. There are      hookups for RVs and Tent camping has restrooms and showers nearby.

Covid Protocols?

Masks or vaccinations are not required. You are more than welcome to wear a mask if you prefer. Your body, your choice.

Parking?
Parking is available for free in the parking lots throughout the fairgrounds. Overnight parking is only allowed for vendors. If you do not have the special parking permit in your vehicle window, your vehicle will be subject to towing.

Seating?
Seating is provided in the workshop areas, but you are asked to bring your own chairs because limited seating is provided or if you want to sit in the shade.

What About Food?
Food trucks will be available.  You are welcome to bring your own food, however, we ask that you do not bring alcoholic beverages and please do not bring your coolers into the buildings and workshop areas. Picnic tables are available in designated areas.

Children?
Children should not be left unsupervised. If your children are patient enough to sit through 30-to-45-minute presentations without disrupting other attendees, then we would love for them to come learn alongside you. (Children left to play in close proximity to speaking areas need to keep noise level/playing down in consideration of attendees trying to listen). Parents are asked not to allow their children to disturb nature at the fairgrounds including trees/tree limbs, wildflowers or other botanicals. Due to seating and space if you have more than a couple of children you might want to bring your own chairs and/or blankets to sit on. There are 2 playgrounds in the fairgrounds. But they will still need supervision.

Can We Bring Our Pets?
We love pets but please leave them at home. Service pets are welcome. But with the possibility of livestock being involved in future events and even a petting zoo, it would just be best to not have pets there.
